Job summary

Gregory Poole Equipment Company is seeking a skilled bus technician to determine status and provide support for school and activity buses. Responsibilities include preventive maintenance, pre-delivery inspections, recalls, and routine shop and field repairs.

The role requires four years of mechanical experience on school/activity buses, with a strong understanding of engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and transmissions. Flexibility for on-call rotation is expected.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school education or GED.
• Four years of mechanical experience, including hands-on work on school and activity buses.
• Fundamental understanding of equipment systems (engines, hydraulics, electrical, sub-electrical, transmissions).

Responsibilities

• Review the work schedule and prepare the required equipment and supplies.
• Troubleshoot using repair manuals, parts diagrams, and manuals for engines, fuel systems, and transmissions.
• Use lift trucks, cranes, and other aids to move parts during service or repair.
• Utilize hand and power tools to disassemble, repair, replace, and test components.
• Enter data into record systems and reference parts information as needed.
• Work on vehicle engines, transmissions, and related systems under supervision.
• Participate in on-call rotations and flexible scheduling as required.
