Job summary

Transdev in Phoenix, AZ is seeking an experienced B-Level Diesel Mechanic to diagnose, repair, and maintain diesel and electric engines across our fleet. You will lead diagnostics, mentor junior technicians, and ensure safe, efficient operation of diesel-powered assets.

Qualifications

  • 2 years of experience as a Diesel Mechanic.
  • ASE certifications preferred.
  • Cobus 3000 experience a plus
  • Mechanic’s Tool Set
  • Must be able to work shifts or flexible work schedules as needed.
  • Subject to a DOT drug testing and physical.
  • Fingerprint-Based Criminal History Records Check or STA.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct diagnostic tests using advanced tools and software to troubleshoot diesel engine issues.
  • Perform moderate complexity repairs and replacements on diesel engine components.
  • Assist A-Level Mechanics in advanced diagnostic and repair tasks.
  • Execute routine maintenance tasks to prevent breakdowns and optimize diesel engine performance.
  • Lead diagnostic tests to identify complex issues and determine comprehensive repair strategies.
  • Perform advanced troubleshooting and repair tasks on diesel engines, including overhauling and rebuilding components to required specifications.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior technicians.
  • Other duties as required.

Transdev in Phoenix, Arizona is seeking an experienced B-Level Diesel Mechanic to bolster our team. This role demands expertise in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel and electric engines across various vehicles and equipment. As a Diesel Mechanic, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring safety, efficiency, and longevity for our diesel-powered assets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Must be able to work shifts or flexible work schedules as needed.
  • Subject to a DOT drug testing and physical if applicable. DOT Regulation 49 CFR Part 40 does not authorize the use of Schedule I drugs, including cannabis, for any reason.
  • Must pass the Fingerprint-Based Criminal History Records Check or a Security Threat Assessment (STA). This process involves a check against FBI databases, as well as other federal databases, to assess whether an individual poses a security threat.
Physical Requirements

The essential functions of this position require the ability to:

  • Work outside in varying temperature, weather, and humidity conditions-100% of the job is performed outside, work alone and in remote locations.
  • Sit for extended periods (up to 6–8 hours per day); frequently walk for long distances and on possible sloped ground or slippery and uneven surfaces
  • Push and pull objects up to 50 pounds, occasionally throughout the workday; lift material weighing up to 50 lbs. with or without assistance; occasionally bend, kneel, or crouch to files or equipment stored at ground level
  • Withstand heavy traffic areas while performing the duties of the job; tolerate exposure to considerable amounts of dust, vehicle fumes and noise.
