Job summary

TRANSIT AUTHORITY OF NORTHERN KENTUCKY is seeking a Service Center technician in Maintenance to clean, service, and park buses and other vehicles. The role requires a CDL Class B with Air Brake endorsements and a PIT permit within probationary period, with strong record-keeping and safety awareness.

The position emphasizes teamwork, initiative, and the ability to perform basic math and interpret safety and procedural documents.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• CDL Class B Passenger and Air Brake endorsements with a valid medical certificate (DOT) or obtained within six months probationary period.
• PIT permit or obtained within six months probationary period.

Responsibilities

• Cleans inside and outside of supervisor vans, trucks, transit and RAMP buses and services all vehicles as needed - including fueling and checking fluids.
• Maneuvers buses around TANK property, holding ones needed for shop work, pit work or servicing.
• Visually checks buses for damage, noise and leaks and reports to shop supervisor.
• Inspects defect cards referring defects to mechanic on duty.
• Goes on road calls when necessary due to mechanical problems with buses in service.
• Accurately completes all maintenance records, reports, and documents.
• Performs other duties including assisting mechanic on duty and janitorial or facility maintenance tasks.
