Job summary

DART (Dallas Area Rapid Transit) seeks a skilled Technician to maintain and repair electronic fare collection, destination signs, CCTV, APCs, radios, and other onboard electronics on revenue vehicles in Dallas, TX. You will diagnose faults, perform preventive maintenance, and work with schematics and test equipment.

Responsibilities include troubleshooting to board level, calibrating systems, and potentially making road calls.

Qualifications

• Associates degree from an accredited college or university or certification from an accredited technical program in Electronics Technology, Mechanical Technology, or equivalent combination of education/experience.
• Must pass a technical test.
• Must have a valid Texas CDL Class B with Passenger Endorsement and clean driving record.
• Must pass DOT medical exam and random drug/alcohol testing.
• Must obtain and maintain required state/federal certifications.
• Excellent PC skills and ability to work with diverse teams.
• Ability to work variable shifts and travel as needed.
• Ability to lift up to 70 pounds and work in tight spaces.

Responsibilities

• Performs preventive maintenance, monitoring, troubleshoots, tests, repairs and maintains complex vehicle electronic systems on revenue vehicles.
• Troubleshoot to board or component level; calibrate and install systems.
• Uses test instruments and schematics to diagnose and service electronic equipment.
• Conducts diagnostic tests on systems and components with portable/on-board equipment.
• Maintains safe, clean work areas and documents repair status.
• May perform road/service calls and operate DART vehicles if required.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
