Job summary

LYNX is seeking a Transit Bus Electronics Technician (Technician C - Electronics) to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain onboard electronic systems for Central Florida’s transit fleet. You’ll work with fareboxes, signages, vehicle location tech, passenger counters, radios, and video systems to keep service reliable and passengers informed.

The role requires a valid Florida CDL Class B with Passenger endorsement and Airbrakes, and involves 24/7 shifts including weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED plus one year of experience in the electronic repair field plus one year of technical school training in electronics; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
• Electronic Technician Degree helpful.
• Must possess and maintain a current Florida CDL permit/license, Class “B” with a Passenger endorsement and Airbrakes.

Responsibilities

• Completes scheduled and non-scheduled maintenance on all electronic systems, subassemblies and control devices.
• Inspects, diagnoses, removes, and repairs electronic systems, equipment and devices.
• Determines the source of trouble.
• Repairs or replaces defective parts or makes changes as instructed.
• Uses testing equipment (meters, oscilloscopes, test bench and mock-up).
• Executes field repairs on road failures as needed.
• Performs other duties as may be required or assigned.
