The YMCA of Metro Atlanta is one of the oldest and most essential non‑profits serving the Atlanta community. This position supports the Afterschool or Youth Development Director by ensuring safe transportation of campers and staff to and from camp locations and off‑site events.
Responsibilities
- Teach basic courtesy and safe driving skills to campers in a safe and respectful manner.
- Take attendance and provide safety information at the start of each trip.
- Inspect the vehicle for all safety guidelines and regulations.
- Follow all traffic regulations and drive in a manner that ensures the safety of passengers.
- Carry out daily program tasks related directly to the position’s scope and responsibility.
- Maintain branch and association certifications in CPR, Metro Atlanta YMCA for New Staff Orientation, Branch Emergency procedures, and any other required certifications or training.
- Maintain and report incident/accident paperwork.

Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED.
- 1+ year of experience working with children in a structured setting.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Current First Aid/CPR certification (obtain within 30 days of hire and maintain throughout employment).
- Pass a criminal background and drug screening check.
- Pass a Motor Vehicles Record Check and have own transportation.
- Pass BFTS background checks.
- Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong customer service skills and personal commitment to service and hospitality.
Employment Requirements
- Ability to pass a pre‑employment background check, including Criminal Record check, Drug Screening, motor vehicle record (MVR) and reference check.
- Legally eligible to work in the US without current or future sponsorship.
- Ability to work actively while supervising children, including climbing, walking, running, stooping, squatting or kneeling, lifting and carrying equipment, and using senses for safe supervision.
