Job summary

The YMCA of Metro Atlanta is seeking a Bus Driver to safely transport campers and staff between locations and events, supporting YMCA programs for children, youth and families. Responsibilities include teaching courteous driving, taking attendance, inspecting vehicles, and following safety regulations.

Applicants must have a High School Diploma or GED, at least 1 year of experience with children, a valid license, CPR/First Aid, and pass background checks; willingness to obtain required

Qualifications

  • Must have a High School Diploma or GED.
  • Minimum 1 year experience working with children in a structured setting.
  • At least 21 years of age.
  • Valid driver's license and a clean driving record; pass a Motor Vehicle Record check.
  • Current First Aid/CPR certification; obtain within 30 days of hire.
  • Pass criminal background, drug screening, and BFTS checks.
  • Legally eligible to work in the United States (no current or future sponsorship required).
  • Strong customer‑service, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to demonstrate YMCA ideals and provide positive leadership.

Responsibilities
  • Teach courteous, safe driving skills to campers.
  • Take attendance and provide safety instructions at trip start.
  • Inspect vehicle and ensure compliance with all safety regulations.
  • Follow all traffic regulations and drive safely.
  • Carry out daily program tasks related to the position.
  • Maintain required certifications (CPR, New Staff Orientation, Branch Emergency procedures).
