Job summary

The Valley Community Association (VCA) in Buffalo is seeking a part-time bus driver to transport senior citizens to stores, programming at the Valley Community Center, field trips, and other activities.

Responsibilities include helping passengers on/off the bus, loading walkers, picking up donations, running office errands, assisting with events, keeping the bus clean, and completing required paperwork. Availability: Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays 8:00am–3:00pm, with occasional additional hours.

Qualifications

• At least 21 years of age.
• Valid NYS Driver’s License (no CDL required).
• Safe, defensive driver with a clean driving record.
• Able to lift a minimum of 25 lb.

Bus Driver

Job Opening (Part-Time - Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, and as needed)

The Valley Community Association (VCA) is a non-profit, multi-faceted human service agency that provides services and programs to the residents of the Buffalo River Community. Services include child care, youth programs, senior citizen activities, family support services, and neighborhood beautification projects.

The Valley Community Association is seeking a part-time bus driver to transport senior citizens to various destinations including stores, to and from programming at the Valley Community Center, on field trips, and more. The driver will also help senior citizens to safely get on and off the bus, and load and unload walkers.

Other responsibilities include picking up donations and supplies, running errands for the VCA business office, assisting with agency special events, keeping the Valley bus clean; ensuring maintenance schedules are followed; and completing required paperwork.

Successful candidates must be available Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday from 8:00am-3:00pm Occasional special events may require additional hours and schedule flexing.

Qualifications

The successful candidate must: be at least 21 years of age; have a valid NYS Driver’s License (no special certifications such as CDL are required); be a safe, defensive driver with a clean driving record; and be able to lift a minimum of 25 lb. They must also be courteous and polite, helpful, trustworthy, reliable, and have empathy and compassion for senior citizens.

The rate of pay is $17/hour.
