Yellow Brick Road is seeking a reliable Bus Driver to safely transport school-age children to and from nearby schools in Iowa. The role requires maintaining safety protocols, building positive interactions with children and parents, and meeting licensing requirements.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Physically capable of safely evacuating the vehicle in an emergency.
• Must be alert, observant, and able to ensure the safety of children while driving.
• Ability to meet the physical demands of the role, including lifting up to 65lbs.
• Willingness to undergo background checks and meet state licensing requirements for working in a childcare setting.
• CPR/First Aid Certification (or willingness to complete upon hire).
• CDL or Chauffeur license required.

Responsibilities

• Safely transport children to and from school.
• Follow all safety procedures to ensure every child is accounted for, including head counts and walk-throughs of the bus after each trip.
• Provide consistent, high-quality care that supports the emotional, social, physical, and cognitive needs of every child—always using positive, respectful interactions.
• Perform weekly bus inspections and refill essential fluids (washer fluid, oil, coolant, etc.); report findings to the Director.
• Complete light cleaning duties on the bus and around the center.
• Maintain annual training hours and comply with licensing regulations.
• Greet every parent and child warmly and professionally.
• Carry out any other duties as assigned.

What You’ll Do:

The starting pay range for this position is $18 per hour and is applicable for candidates who will be working in the following location(s): Iowa. This range is subject to adjustment based on geographic location. In addition to geographic considerations, Yellow Brick Road evaluates education, experience, internal equity, market demand, and other qualifying criteria to determine starting wages.
