Yellow Brick Road Early Childhood Development Center in Des Moines, IA is seeking a part-time Bus Driver to safely transport school-age children to and from nearby schools. You will follow safety procedures, perform head counts, and ensure children are supervised with warmth and professionalism.

Responsibilities include weekly bus inspections, basic bus cleaning, maintaining licensing compliance, and greeting families with a friendly, child-centered approach.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Physically capable of evacuating the vehicle in case of an emergency.
• Willingness to undergo background checks and licensing requirements.

Responsibilities

• Safely transport children to and from school and maintain safety procedures.
• Conduct head counts and post-trip walk‑throughs to ensure accountability.
• Provide high‑quality, respectful care supporting emotional, social, physical, and cognitive needs.
• Perform weekly bus inspections and report findings to the Director.
• Complete light cleaning duties on the bus and around the center.
• Maintain licensing compliance and required training hours.
• Greet parents and children warmly and professionally.
• Carry out other duties as assigned.
