Job summary

YMCA of Coastal Georgia, Inc. is seeking a Bus Driver to safely transport program participants. The role includes daily vehicle inspections, mileage logging, and reporting safety concerns to a supervisor.

A positive attitude and strong customer service are essential for helping to retain members and participants in YMCA programs. Applicants must hold a valid CDL, meet DOT physical standards, and have CPR/First Aid certification within 30 days. A clean background check is required.

Responsibilities

• Daily inspection and recording of bus maintenance log and mileage.
• Ensure safety of all program participants during transport.
• Provide courteous customer service to YMCA members and participants.
• Assist in general fundraising and member retention activities as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

POSITION SUMMARY:The Bus Driver is responsible for the safe transport of program participants for the YMCA.In addition, every position in the YMCA of Coastal Georgia, Inc. is responsible for upholding the Judeo-Christian principles that are central to our mission by modeling behaviors that exemplify the four pillars of character - caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Daily inspection and recording of bus/van maintenance logDaily recording of mileageReporting all vehicle safety concerns to supervisorKeeping up to date and accurate recordsEnsuring the safety of all program participants during transportAssist in the overall retention and satisfaction of YMCA members through appropriate customer serviceAssist in the Annual Campaign fundraising program for the YMCAMaintain a positive and cheerful attitude with staff, peers, and program participantsMust be qualified to drive manual and long-nosed bussesAll additional duties as assignedThis organization has zero tolerance for abuse and will not tolerate the mistreatment or abuse of consumers in its programs. Any mistreatment or abuse by an employee or volunteer will result in disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment or volunteer service and cooperation with law enforcement. This organization takes every allegation of abuse or misconduct seriously and will fully cooperate with the authorities to investigate all cases of alleged abuse or misconduct. Employees and volunteers shall cooperate with any external investigation by outside authorities or internal investigation conducted by the organization or persons given investigative authority by the organization.
