TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT : 9 months
SALARY : Salary as determined by the classified salary schedule approved by the GUHSD Governing Board.
SUMMARY : Transporting students to and from school and other excursions safely and in a timely and efficient manner.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. JOB REQUIREMENTS
Ability to transport students to and from school over scheduled routes and / or to / from special excursions while ensuring the vehicle is in safe operating condition. Ensuring safety of students during transport as well as during loading and unloading from buses. Responsibilities include : working under limited supervision following standardized practices and / or methods; leading, guiding, and / or coordinating others; and operating within a defined budget.
KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITY
Specific knowledge-based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include : health standards and hazards; safety practices and procedures; laws, rules, and regulations pertaining to school bus operations and pupil transportation including appropriate Arizona State motor Vehicle Code and the education Code; safe driving principles and practices; bus routes / stops; and CPR and First Aid principles and practices. Ability is required to use basic, job related equipment as well as working with a wide diversity of individuals.
EDUCATION and / or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or GED equivalent.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Knowledge is required to read a variety of manuals, write documents following prescribed formats. Specific knowledge based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include : safety practices and procedures, and the ability to read maps.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Knowledge is required to perform basic math, including calculations using fractions, percentages, and / or ratios.
COMPUTER SKILLS
Not applicable.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Must meet requirements for First Aid and CPR. Arizona Commercial Driver's License, Medical Certificate, Physical Performance Test and DPS Certification. Must pass pre-employment drug and alcohol screening and provide proof of Measles / Mumps / Rubella vaccination or immunity. Must clear Criminal Justice Fingerprint / Background clearance.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee will work in the field. At times the job will become extremely hectic and stressful. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment will range from low to loud depending on the current activity level.
