Job summary

Transdev El Cajon, CA is hiring bus drivers. No commercial driver’s license is required to apply—we provide full-time, paid training to help qualified candidates obtain a Class B CDL. Starting pay is $20.91 per hour with wage progression up to $29.00 per hour after 49+ months.

Walk-ins are welcome Wednesdays 9:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m. at Transdev El Cajon, 544 Vernon Way, El Cajon, CA 92020. Bring your CA license, DMV record, and documents to begin the CDL permit process.

Qualifications

• Strong communication and customer-service skills.
• At least three years of personal or professional driving experience.
• Ability to obtain a Class B CDL permit with passenger and air-brake endorsements.
• Availability to work days, evenings, weekends, and overnight shifts as assigned.
• Pass DOT physical, drug-testing, and background-screening requirements.

Minimum Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old
• Valid California driver’s license in good standing
• At least three years of personal or professional driving experience
• Ability to obtain a Class B CDL permit with passenger and air-brake endorsements
• Strong communication and customer-service skills
• Availability to work days, evenings, weekends, and overnight shifts as assigned
• Ability to pass applicable DOT physical, drug-testing, and background-screening requirements

• Your valid California driver’s license
• A current DMV K4 driving record, if available
• Documents needed to begin the CDL permit process, including your Social Security card, two proofs of California residency, and an acceptable identity and legal-presence document.

This position is represented by ATU Local 1309 and is subject to a collective bargaining agreement.
