Job summary

Transdev North America is seeking a CDL Bus Driver in Knoxville, TN to ensure safe and reliable passenger transportation. You will follow routes and schedules, uphold safety standards, and provide exceptional customer service.

The role requires a CDL Class B with passenger endorsement and a minimum of three years driving experience. Compensation includes hourly pay with CDL and top wage growth; expect shifts, DOT compliance, and benefits after eligibility.

Qualifications

• Must be 21 years or older.
• Valid CDL Class B with passenger and airbrake endorsement.
• Minimum 3 years of driving experience (personal or professional).
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Must be able to work shifts or flexible schedules as needed.
• Subject to DOT drug testing and compliance with 49 CFR Part 40.

Responsibilities

• Safety-focused operations following routes and schedules with safety protocols.
• Provide courteous passenger care during boarding, travel, and disembarkation.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections; report maintenance or safety concerns.
• Follow company policies including seat-belt enforcement and emergency preparedness.
• Additional duties to support safe, efficient operations.
• Assist passengers with disabilities, including mobility aid handling.

• $18.92/hour (non-CDL)
• $20.42/hour (CDL) Valid CDL Class B with passenger endorsement

Key Responsibilities

• Safety-Focused Operations: Execute safe and reliable transportation services by following designated routes and schedules while strictly adhering to safety protocols, traffic laws, and company standards.
• Passenger Care: Provide courteous, professional assistance to passengers, ensuring safe and efficient boarding, comfortable transportation, and timely disembarkation.
• Vehicle Safety and Maintenance: Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, promptly report maintenance or safety concerns, and maintain high standards of vehicle cleanliness and safety-equipment readiness.
• Policy and Protocol Compliance: Consistently follow company policies and procedures, including seat-belt enforcement, emergency-response preparedness, and all applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
• Additional Duties: Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned to support safe, efficient, and professional operations.
• Ability to safely assist passengers with disabilities, including supporting the use, securement, and transport of wheelchairs and other mobility aids.

• Must be able to work shifts or flexible work schedules as needed.
• Subject to DOT drug testing and physical if applicable. DOT Regulation 49 CFR Part 40 does not authorize the use of Schedule I drugs, including cannabis, for any reason.

Physical Requirements

The essential functions of this position require the ability to:

• Work outside in varying temperature, weather, and humidity conditions-100% of the job is performed outside, work alone, and in remote locations.
• Sit for extended periods (up to 6–8 hours per day); frequently walk for long distances and on possible sloped ground or slippery and uneven surfaces
