Job summary

Carol Stream Park District is seeking a Bus Driver for its 39-passenger bus, primarily for senior day trips and occasional summer camp field trips. Candidates should have previous driving experience, a valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with passenger endorsement, and a clean driving record. The role requires flexible daytime availability with work primarily on weekdays and some weekends. The district will cover the cost for physical and drug testing and background checks are mandatory.

Qualifications

Salary & Benefits

• Salary: $20.00 – $24.00 per hour (DOE)

Hours

• Part‑time; employees do not work more than 1,000 hours per calendar year.
• Weekdays and occasional weekends.
• Daytime and evening hours.

Job Requirements

A Bus Driver is needed for the Park District's 39‑passenger bus, primarily for senior day trips, occasional summer camp field trips and special event shuttling. The role has varying hours; mainly weekdays with minimal weekend shifts. The senior program averages two trips per week year‑round, but the driver will be scheduled on a substitute basis only. Applicants must be a safe and conscientious driver, good with directions, experienced with driving a large bus, familiar with the greater Chicago/suburban area, comfortable driving in downtown Chicago and out of state, have exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, and have a flexible schedule with availability during daytime year‑round.
