Job summary

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• 6 months to 1 year related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• At least 1 year experience in Customer Service position required.
• Valid CDL or ability and willingness to obtain one within 90 days of employment.
• Must be at least 21 years of age with 3 years of driving experience.

Responsibilities

• Communicate with schools, parents, drivers and aides; answer inquiries by phone and radio.
• Ensure employees report as scheduled and complete paperwork.
• Plan, schedule and assign drivers for daily routes and special transportation.
• Observe and track route timing and assist in developing routes, busloads, stops and schedules.
• Read and follow School District contracts and report issues to supervisor.
• Maintain records and submit reports including mileage, fuel and incidents; daily vehicle inspections.
• Assist shop with vehicle maintenance scheduling and invoice coding.
• Be on-call for emergencies and weekends; drive a bus as needed.
• Collaborate with Operations, Safety, Training and Fleet Maintenance departments.
• Ensure compliance with pupil/client management policies and communications with parents and schools.
• Assist manager with billing, payroll and month-end tasks.
• Support driver recruitment and training initiatives.
• Assist in driver safety evaluations and annual road tests.
• Travel to other STA facilities as directed; may require overnight stays.
