Sikeston Public Schools is seeking a part-time Bus Aide to support student riders in the Transportation department for the 2026-2027 school year. The role involves riding the bus, monitoring student behavior, and helping ensure safe entry and exit.

Responsibilities include assisting the bus driver, maintaining seating order, assisting with students with special needs as needed, and communicating clearly with staff.

Qualificações

• Must be able to communicate clearly with teachers, students, administrators and other staff members.
• Must successfully pass a background check that is satisfactory to the Board of Education

Responsabilidades

• Assists the bus driver in maintaining good conduct on the bus.
• Assures students remain seated and board/alight safely.
• Provides mild supervision and reports serious offenses to the bus driver or teacher.
• Collects personal items left on the bus and turns them over to staff.
• Assists with securing special needs students and cleaning the bus.
• Assists with completing seating charts and other duties as assigned.

General Summary:

The primary job will be to ride the bus and help monitor students.

General Responsibilities

• Assists the bus driver in maintaining good conduct on the bus.
• Assumes the responsibility of seeing that children remain in their seats.
• Assures that students get on and off the bus in a safe, orderly fashion.
• Provides mild supervision over the children who misbehave, reporting serious offenses to bus drive or the child's teacher.
• Collects and turns over to the school staff those personal items left on the bus by students.
• Any other duties assigned by the Director of Transportation.
• Must be physically able to assist or remove students from the bus in case of emergency.
• Must be able to communicate clearly with teachers, students, administrators and other staff members.
• Must be able to read and understand written orders and instructions.
• Assist with Securing special needs students in car seats and protective gear as needed
• Assist with cleaning inside of bus
• Prepare seating charts for busComplete monthly student recognitions
• Assisting bus driver as needed
