Job summary

ALAMOSA SCHOOL DISTRICT, NO. RE-11J is seeking a part-time Bus Aide to support the Transportation Department, ensuring student safety and adherence to district policies.

The position requires interaction with students on buses, participation in drills, and cooperation with the Driver and Transportation Director to maintain a secure, respectful environment. Training and dress-code compliance are expected as part of regular duties.

Qualifications

• Must have high school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Must be able to perform all duties of the job.
• Must maintain First Aid/CPR certificate.
• Transportation management has the right to hire bus aides through an interview process and upon Board approval.

Responsibilities

• Assist driver with student discipline on the bus and follow established student discipline procedures. Must be firm, friendly and fair.
• Assist with evacuation drills as directed.
• Follow policies, procedures and rules governing all areas of transportation department.
• Attend all in-service training.
• Shall be neatly dressed and shall adhere to district dress code.
• Use protective gear as necessary such as gloves and masks.
• Perform other duties related to transporting students as appointed by driver. This includes but is not limited to buckling, strapping and securing students, and taking students into buildings or home as applicable.
• Operate two-way radio using proper language and procedures.
• Will work toward a team-building concept and maintain a high level of public relations with a cheerful, helpful and courteous attitude.
