Job summary

VCU Health seeks a Burn Outreach Coordinator to lead burn education across the Central Virginia region, coordinating with ERs, hospitals, and community providers to improve access to VCU Medical Center and monitor burn care quality.

The role requires Virginia RN licensure, ABLS/ACLS/PALS, 3 years burn/trauma nursing, and 2 years leadership/education experience; travel and flexible hours are expected.

Qualifications

• RN licensure in Virginia or eligible/compact state.
• ABLS, ACLS, PALS certification or equivalent.
• Minimum 3 years burn/trauma nursing experience.
• Minimum 2 years leadership/education experience.
• Master’s degree preferred; program development experience a plus.
• Experience with quality/performance improvement and presenting.

Responsibilities

• Design, conduct and evaluate educational programs for lay, military, para-professional and professional groups.
• Conduct research on burn injury risk factors in vulnerable populations.
• Develop and maintain local and regional burn outreach plans.
• Develop regional/system-based performance improvement initiatives.
• Initiate and implement a SOAR program.
