Job summary

VCU Health is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider to join the Burn Surgery inpatient team in Richmond. The APP will manage care for patients with acute burns and complex wounds during hospitalization, with a rotating weekend schedule.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited Nurse Practitioner, Nurse Midwife or Physician Assistant program.
• Current Virginia licensure from the appropriate board.
• Current national certification as appropriate for the role.
• Current CPR and Basic Life Support (BLS) certifications; ACLS/PALS may be required.
• Minimum relevant clinical experience as specified by department.

Responsibilities

• Perform histories and physicals, order and interpret tests, diagnose and treat injuries/illness.
• Assist with surgical procedures and coordinate patient care with Attending Physician.
• Provide education to patients and families; participate in rounds and team communication.
• Maintain departmental practice scope under state regulations and hospital policies.
• Engage in professional development, research and continuous quality improvement.
