Job summary

VCU Medical Center in Richmond seeks registered nurses to join the Burn ICU within Virginia Commonwealth University Health Systems. You will care for burn patients, document care, and participate in multidisciplinary plans with escalating leadership responsibilities across Clin I–III.

Positions require Virginia RN licensure (or eligibility/compact state), diploma/associate nursing, and commitment to ongoing BSN education if not already held; BLS/HCP certification also noted.

Qualifications

• RN licensure in Virginia or eligible/compact state.
• Diploma or Associate Degree from an approved nursing program.
• All RNs without a BSN must enroll in an RN-to-BSN program within 2 years and finish within 5 years.
• BSN preferred and specialty certification may be required at higher levels.

Responsibilities

• Deliver age-specific nursing care and document accurately per physician orders and care plans.
• Safely administer prescribed medications, monitor for interactions and incompatibilities.
• Provide leadership, education, and unit-level supervision as Clin I–III.

Education

Diploma or Associate Degree in Nursing

RN licensure in Virginia or eligible/compact state

Enrollment in RN to BSN within 2 years; complete within 5 years

Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred
