Job summary

UNC Health is seeking an Aftercare Coordinator to deliver inpatient, outpatient, and offsite therapeutic programming for burn survivors and families. The role involves designing and supervising routines, budgets, safety protocols, and evaluating camps, retreats, and school re-entry initiatives.

The coordinator tailors interactions to age and healing trajectory, supports coping and resilience, and leads data-driven program evaluation for leadership and donors. Some evenings and weekends required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Therapeutic Recreation, Child Life, Nursing, Social Work, or Chaplaincy.
• Requires 4 years of experience working with medical specialty populations.

Responsibilities

• Plans, creates and conducts individualized and generalized supportive care programs for pediatric and adult patients and families in inpatient and clinic settings.
• Ensures safety, infection control and risk management in all interactions and programming.
• Coordinates offsite events, camps and retreats, including volunteer and staff delegation and logistics.
• Revises risk management and safety protocols for participant safety at all sessions.
• Facilitates data entry, reporting and communications with donors, leadership and multidisciplinary teams.

Education
