Job summary

Uniti's Kinetic unit seeks a Buried Drop Technician to perform the physical installation of buried copper, fiber, and coaxial cable from the network hub to customers' homes. Travel overnight, including out-of-state, may be required to support job sites.

You will follow drawings, promote Kinetic services, train new staff, and operate job-tracking devices while handling LOCATES and trenching equipment. This safety-sensitive role supports customer connectivity in multiple markets.

Qualifications

• Physical ability to walk 1/2 mile+ with a drop plow.
• Willingness to work overtime, callouts, standby.
• Basic technology and math skills.
• Ability to distinguish colors in color-coded cables.
• Ability to lift up to 70 pounds.
• Ability to travel overnight for training and work.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Ability to pass pre-employment DOT physical.

Responsibilities

• Install buried copper, fiber, and coaxial drop cable from hub to residence.
• Travel overnight, including out of state, as needed.
• Promote Kinetic products and services to customers.
• Train new employees on daily job functions.
• Interpret work drawings and complete paperwork.
• Operate hand-held computer to manage tasks.
• Locate underground facilities when required during tasks.
• Operate trenching and boring equipment for burying cable.
• All other tasks as assigned.
