Job summary

Uniti’s Kinetic unit is seeking a Buried Drop Technician to install buried copper, fiber and coaxial drops from the hub to customers’ homes. The role requires travel, including overnight stays, and entails safety-sensitive duties.

You will perform live installations, interpret drawings, and promote Kinetic products in a customer-focused setting. The ideal candidate is physically capable, with basic math skills, color-vision accuracy, and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Must be able to walk 1/2 mile+ with a drop plow and service cable
• Overnight travel is required based on business needs
• Basic technology and math skills are required
• Must be able to distinguish colors in color-coded cables

Responsibilities

• Perform the physical installation of buried copper, fiber & coaxial drop cable to connect Kinetic’s network to the customer’s residence
• Use technical expertise and customer focus to create meaningful connections with customers
• Interpret work drawings and complete required paperwork
• Sell and promote Kinetic products and services
• Train new employees on daily job functions
• Operate handheld computer to retrieve/clear tasks
• Perform underground facility locates as applicable during tasks
• Operate trenching and boring equipment for burying cable
• Perform other duties as assigned
