Rimkus Consulting Group, Inc. is seeking a skilled field engineer/assistant project manager to support Built Environment Solutions projects.

You will perform building assessments, renovations, and new construction work for commercial, residential, and industrial properties, collaborating with licensed professionals and clients. The role requires strong report writing, site inspections, and knowledge of codes.

Qualifications

• Construction field engineer or assistant project management experience required.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) required.
• Strong report writing and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to interact with clients at multiple levels and work independently.
• Familiarity with general construction principles and processes.
• Ability to collaborate with team members, clients, and stakeholders to support project outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Write and tailor reports for specific clientele.
• Provide technical expertise for building assessments, repairs, renovations, maintenance, restoration, and new construction projects.
• Work with licensed professionals in assessment, design, and construction of commercial, residential, and industrial buildings.
• Perform field assessments in various site areas, including ladders, scaffolding, and confined spaces.
• Research local/state building codes and standards; review submittals and technical data.
• Read, interpret, and understand construction drawings and specifications.
• Evaluate change orders by reviewing scope, cost, and impacts; support negotiations.
