Rimkus Consulting Group in Boston, MA is seeking a qualified Consultant for Built Environment Solutions to support our diverse client base across property owners, developers, investors and contractors. You will apply technical education and project experience to deliver clear conclusions and recommendations.

The role requires 3–5 years in construction, a BS in a construction‑related field, and strong report writing, client communication, and collaboration with licensed professionals.

Qualifications

• Construction field engineer or assistant project management experience required.
• Building Inspection experience is a plus.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office required.
• Strong report writing and verbal communication skills required.
• Able to interact with clients at all levels and work independently with good judgment.
• Familiar with general construction principles.
• Ability to collaborate with team members, clients, and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Write and tailor reports for specific clientele.
• Provide technical expertise for building assessments, repairs, renovations, maintenance, restoration, and new construction projects.
• Work with licensed professionals in the assessment, design and construction of commercial, residential, and industrial buildings.
• Perform field assessments at client sites including ladders, lifts, scaffolding, and confined spaces.
• Research local and state building codes and standards (historical and current).
• Review product submittals, samples, mock‑ups, testing reports, data sheets, and warranties.
• Read construction drawings and specifications.
• Evaluate change orders for scope, cost, and project impacts; support negotiations.
