Job summary

The Vermont Department of Buildings and General Services seeks a Buildings Project Manager II to lead all phases of construction projects for state facilities, from planning through completion. You will work with consultants and contractors, coordinate with stakeholders, and support reviews and maintenance initiatives.

Most duties are office-based with regular site visits to facilities such as psychiatric care, correctional facilities, and laboratories.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, architecture, construction management, or related field.
• Associate's degree + 2+ years construction/engineering experience.
• High school diploma + 6+ years construction/engineering/architecture experience.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize workload.
• Experience in construction project management, capital improvement, or design oversight.

Responsibilities

• Manage all phases of construction projects including repairs, renovations, and new construction.
• Coordinate with consultants and contractors and communicate with stakeholders.
• Assist with technical reviews and oversee smaller maintenance projects.
• Office-based with regular site visits to facilities; telework up to two days per week after one year.
