Job summary

Simpson Gumpertz & Heger (SGH) is seeking recent or upcoming graduates with a Bachelor of Architectural Engineering or Bachelor of Science in Civil or Structural Engineering to join our Washington, D.C. office as an Associate Project Consultant.

The role focuses on applying engineering principles to the exterior envelope of buildings, with duties spanning design, evaluation, and repair for existing structures.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Architectural Engineering or Civil/Structural Engineering.
• 0–5 years experience; EIT preferred.
• Interest in building construction and solving engineering problems.
• Willingness to learn and lifelong dedication to growth.
• Experience with AutoCAD or Revit is a plus.
• Must be able to climb ladders and work at heights.

Responsibilities

• Assist with new design, evaluation, investigation, and repairs for existing buildings under licensed engineer supervision.
• Travel to multiple job sites and work at great heights; climb ladders/scaffolds as required.
