Job summary

Simpson Gumpertz & Heger (SGH) is seeking an Associate Project Consultant in Oakland, CA, to apply engineering principles to building envelopes under a licensed engineer. You will assist with new design, evaluation, and repair projects for existing buildings.

We seek recent graduates with architectural or structural engineering backgrounds, eager to learn and travel to sites. Strong communication and problem-solving skills are essential; AutoCAD/Revit experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Architectural Engineering or Civil/Structural degree.
• 0 to 2 years of experience; EIT preferred.
• Demonstrated interest in building construction and engineering problem solving.
• Willingness to travel to multiple job sites.
• Experience with AutoCAD or Revit is a plus.
• Valid driver’s license and an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report.

Responsibilities

• Assist with new design, evaluation, investigation, and repairs for existing buildings.
• Under the direction of a licensed engineer, contribute to projects and designs.
• Climb ladders/scaffolds and travel to multiple job sites as needed.
