Job summary

Simpson Gumpertz & Heger (SGH) is seeking an Associate Project Consultant for our Building Technology team in Washington, DC. You will assist licensed engineers with design, evaluation, and repairs of building envelopes, applying physics and materials science to durable, energy-efficient solutions.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in Architectural/ Civil/ Structural Eng and up to 5 years of experience, with driving and field travel involved.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Architectural Engineering or Bachelor of Science in Civil or Structural Engineering.
  • 0–5 years of experience; EIT preferred.
  • Demonstrated interest in building construction and engineering problem solving.
  • Ability to climb ladders/scaffolds and travel to multiple job sites.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with new design, evaluation, and repairs for existing buildings.
  • Work under licensed engineers and support project delivery.
  • Travel to multiple job sites and operate at heights as needed.
  • Maintain professional demeanor and eagerness to learn.
