Job summary

JLL is seeking a Building Maintenance Technician for our Lexington, KY site. The role focuses on performing reactive and preventive maintenance on building and manufacturing line systems, with responsibilities spanning electrical, plumbing, lighting and HVAC related tasks.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED, trade certs, and at least three years of relevant experience. On-site work with after-hours availability and strong teamwork with the engineering group are expected.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent; trade school certifications; vocational training; core competency in a trade having ability to support listed objectives and responsibilities.
• Favorable customer interaction; ability to work independently when required.
• Minimum three years of relevant experience preferred; this is a skilled level position.
• Candidate should be able to take direction and mentoring from the professional/leadership site team.

Responsibilities

• Perform ongoing reactive and preventive work orders on building systems and manufacturing line systems.
• Maintain, operate, and repair building and manufacturing line systems including PMs, lighting, electrical, plumbing, and thermostat adjustments.
• Respond to emergencies and ensure safety procedures are followed while maintaining good housekeeping.
• Work with building automation systems, fire/life safety systems, and other related equipment.
• Utilize Corrigo and Microsoft Office tools; participate in after-hours building-related activities as required.
• Collaborate with engineering team and be willing to expand skill set to achieve license/certificate status.

Building Maintenance Technician Performance of ongoing reactive & preventive work orders on building systems, HVAC systems and manufacturing line systems. Maintain, operate, and repair all manufacturing and building systems.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND OBJECTIVES

Performance of ongoing reactive & preventive work orders on building systems and manufacturing line systems. Maintain, operate, and repair all building and manufacturing line systems including but not limited to: PM's –Minor Preventative Maintenance Belt replacements Lighting Electrical repairs minor (110 volt) General plumbing repairs, Toilet and sink repair Thermostat adjustments when properly trained Building repairs Repair walls, patching & painting Caulk windows & other openings Other duties as assigned Respond effectively to all emergencies. Study and become familiar with the various items of equipment, and the methods required to use them properly, that are required in everyday activities. This includes building automation systems, fire/life safety systems, and any other building related equipment. Comply with all safety procedures, maintaining good housekeeping and safety of work areas. Recognize danger and safety hazards and propose methods to eliminate them. Maintain compliance to State, County, or Municipality Ordinances, Codes, or Laws. Must be willing and able to support any after-hours building related activity as required. Attend periodic training seminars Interacts with external and internal customers with a positive demeanor. Will be required to utilize Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Will be required to utilize Corrigo, JLL’s Work Order System as appropriate. On call duties and overtime as required Steadily improve skills to achieve license/certificate status in one or more technical skill areas. Able to carry 50 lbs. Provide service for first response to equipment failures/plant down events Works as a cohesive team member taking direction and training from engineering team.

EDUCATION/WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS

High School Diploma or GED equivalent; trade school certifications; vocational training; core competency in a trade(s) having the ability to support listed Objectives and Responsibilities above are required. Favorable customer interaction Ability to work independently when required. Minimum three years of relevant experience is preferred; this is a skilled level position. Has a strong aptitude and positive attitude for learning new skills. Candidate should be able to take direction and mentoring from the professional/leadership site team.
