Job summary

JLL in Lexington, KY is seeking a Building Maintenance Engineer to perform reactive and preventive maintenance on building and manufacturing line systems, including HVAC, lighting, generators and controls. You will work on-site, respond to emergencies, and support after-hours activities as needed.

The ideal candidate has five or more years of relevant experience, strong electrical/HVAC skills, and the ability to operate within a team while following safety procedures and company policies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED and trade/technical training or licenses.
• Electrical, controls and HVAC skills and experience preferred.
• Strong customer interaction and ability to work independently.
• Minimum five years of relevant experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performance of ongoing reactive and preventive work orders on building systems, HVAC systems and manufacturing line systems.
• Maintain, operate, and repair lighting, generators, UPS, electrical installs up to 480V, and related equipment.
• Support after-hours building activities and respond to emergencies as needed.
• Utilize building automation, fire/life safety systems and Corrigo work orders.
• Collaborate with engineering team and external/internal customers with a positive demeanor.

Building Maintenance Engineer

Performance of ongoing reactive & preventive work orders on building systems, HVAC systems and manufacturing line systems.

• Performance of ongoing reactive & preventive work orders on building systems, HVAC systems and manufacturing line systems.
• Maintain, operate, and repair all building and manufacturing line systems including but not limited to:
• Lighting
• Emergency generators
• UPS
• Electrical repairs, New electrical installs, Electrical repairs up to 480v, DC electrical work
• Forklift PM's & repairs
• PLCs
• Chillers
• DDC/pneumatics
• RO/DI water
• Cooling towers
• AHU servicing
• Boilers/associated equip
• Compressors and associated equipment
• Humidity control
• Backflow testing/Fire Pump PMs/Steam traps/control valves/Pumps/Hydraulics
• Other duties as assigned
• Respond effectively to all emergencies.
• Study and become familiar with the various items of equipment, and the methods required to use them properly, that are required in everyday activities. This to include building automation systems, fire / life safety systems, and any other building related equipment.
• Comply with all safety procedures, maintaining good housekeeping and safety of work areas. Recognize danger and safety hazards and propose methods to eliminate them.
• Maintain compliance to State, County, or City Ordinances, Codes, or Laws.
• Must be willing and able to support any afterhours building related activity as required.
• Attend periodic training seminars
• Interacts with external and internal customers with a positive demeanor.
• Will be required to utilize Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Will be required to utilize Corrigo, JLL's Work Order System as appropriate.
• On call duties and overtime as required
• Steadily improve skills to achieve license/certificate status in one or more technical skill areas.
• Able to carry 50 lbs.
• Provide service for first response to equipment failures/plant down events
• Works as a cohesive team member taking direction and training from engineering team.

EDUCATION/WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:

High School Diploma or GED equivalent; trade school certification, formalized training; vocational training; licenses; journeyman, with core competency in a trade(s) having the ability to support listed objectives and responsibilities above are required.

Electrical, Controls and HVAC skills and experience greatly preferred.

Favorable customer interaction

Ability to work independently when required.

Minimum five years of relevant experience greatly preferred; this is a skilled level position.

Has a strong aptitude and positive attitude for learning new skills. Candidate should be able to take direction and mentoring from the professional/leadership site team.
