Job summary

Jones Lang LaSalle is seeking a Building Maintenance Engineer on-site in Lexington, KY to perform reactive and preventive maintenance on building and manufacturing line systems, including HVAC, electrical, and controls. You will diagnose issues, perform repairs, and coordinate with the engineering team to keep operations running smoothly.

The role requires a high school diploma or trade training, five years of relevant experience, and the ability to work independently and respond to emergencies.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED; trade school training or journeyman status required.
• Electrical, Controls and HVAC skills preferred.
• Ability to work independently and maintain safety standards.
• Minimum five years of relevant experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform ongoing reactive & preventive work orders on building systems, HVAC systems and manufacturing line systems.
• Maintain, operate and repair all building and manufacturing line systems including lighting, emergency generators, electrical installs and related equipment.
• Respond to emergencies and ensure safety compliance; follow safety procedures and proper housekeeping.
• Use Corrigo for work orders and Microsoft Office Suite for reporting and documentation.
• Attend training and collaborate with engineering team; support after-hours activities as required.

Building Maintenance Engineer Performance of ongoing reactive & preventive work orders on building systems, HVAC systems and manufacturing line systems. Maintain, operate, and repair all manufacturing and building systems

RESPONSIBILITIES AND OBJECTIVES:

Performance of ongoing reactive & preventive work orders on building systems, HVAC systems and manufacturing line systems. Maintain, operate, and repair all building and manufacturing line systems including but not limited to: Lighting Emergency generators UPS Electrical repairs, New electrical installs, Electrical repairs up to 480v, DC electrical work Forklift PM's & repairs PLCs Chillers DDC/pneumatics RO/DI water Cooling towers AHU servicing Boilers/associated equip Compressors and associated equipment Humidity control Backflow testing/Fire Pump PMs/Steam traps/control valves/Pumps/Hydraulics Other duties as assigned Respond effectively to all emergencies. Study and become familiar with the various items of equipment, and the methods required to use them properly, that are required in everyday activities. This to include building automation systems, fire / life safety systems, and any other building related equipment. Comply with all safety procedures, maintaining good housekeeping and safety of work areas. Recognize danger and safety hazards and propose methods to eliminate them. Maintain compliance to State, County, or City Ordinances, Codes, or Laws. Must be willing and able to support any afterhours building related activity as required. Attend periodic training seminars Interacts with external and internal customers with a positive demeanor. Will be required to utilize Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Will be required to utilize Corrigo, JLL’s Work Order System as appropriate. On call duties and overtime as required Steadily improve skills to achieve license/certificate status in one or more technical skill areas. Able to carry 50 lbs. Provide service for first response to equipment failures/plant down events Works as a cohesive team member taking direction and training from engineering team.

EDUCATION/WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:

High School Diploma or GED equivalent; trade school certification, formalized training; vocational training; licenses; journeyman, with core competency in a trade(s) having the ability to support listed objectives and responsibilities above are required. Electrical, Controls and HVAC skills and experience greatly preferred. Favorable customer interaction Ability to work independently when required. Minimum five years of relevant experience greatly preferred; this is a skilled level position. Has a strong aptitude and positive attitude for learning new skills. Candidate should be able to take direction and mentoring from the professional/leadership site team. This position does not provide visa sponsorship. Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
