Job summary

Lincoln Property Company is seeking a Building Engineer I to maintain, operate, and troubleshoot building systems including HVAC, plumbing, and electrical. The role focuses on routine maintenance, tenant requests, and safe operation under senior engineers.

This is an in-office position with responsibilities spanning inspections, repairs, and safety compliance. You will work with tenants, contractors, and property managers, escalating issues when needed and developing technical skills through

Qualifications

• 2-3 years of job-related experience or commensurate certification/trade experience.
• Licenses required per local, state, or national requirements.
• CFC Certification preferred.
• Developing familiarity with HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems; gaining experience with BAS operation and troubleshooting.
• Basic skills with Microsoft Office Outlook and laptop/phone applications for work order systems, email, and training platforms.
• Ability to stand, walk, climb ladders, and lift up to 50 pounds; able to perform physically demanding tasks such as stooping, crouching, and kneeling.
• Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship now or in the future.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled maintenance, repairs, and inspections of building systems.
• Address service requests, including hot/cold calls, plumbing issues, and lighting repairs.
• Troubleshoot minor equipment malfunctions and escalates issues as needed.
• Replace light fixtures, filters, and other components as required.
• Maintain accurate records of inspections and equipment performance.
• Conduct property inspections to identify deficiencies; assist with preventive maintenance tasks and contractor oversight.
• Follow company safety protocols and use PPE for all tasks; ensure compliance with OSHA, NEC, NFC, and NFPA regulations; report hazards immediately and participate in safety audits.
• Participate in on-call rotations and respond to emergencies; handle urgent tenant service requests and support recovery efforts during severe weather and system outages.
• Interact with tenants, contractors, and property managers; work closely with senior engineers and technicians.
• Work closely with senior engineers to develop technical skills; participate in professional development programs.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
