Job summary

JLL in Columbus, OH is hiring an Operating Engineer 1 to maintain HVAC, electrical and plumbing systems, ensure safe, efficient operations, and perform preventive maintenance. You will diagnose issues and collaborate with senior engineers to keep critical building systems running smoothly.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED with trades schooling, EPA Universal Technician, 1+ year in related environments, and familiarity with CMMS and BAS.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED with two years of trades schooling in electrical, refrigeration, and HVAC.
• EPA Universal Technician Certification for CFC refrigerant handling.
• 1+ years of related experience in commercial/industrial environments focusing on HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and building maintenance.
• 1+ years of CMMS, Preventive Maintenance software and BAS with RTU monitoring.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain HVAC systems, diagnose malfunctions and restore equipment.
• Analyze system performance using BAS and blueprints to identify root causes.
• Execute preventive maintenance for HVACR, chillers and related systems.
• Troubleshoot to minimize downtime and maintain system reliability.
• Maintain electrical systems including low/medium voltage and lighting.
• Install, repair, and maintain plumbing, doors, gates, and safety systems.
• Daily start-up for fire pumps, heaters, boilers, elevators, and compressors; assist with repairs.
• Collaborate with senior engineers to develop technical skills across building systems.
