Job summary

Cushman & Wakefield is seeking a Non-Licensed Building Engineer for the 1st shift to operate and maintain mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems at our Cambridge, MA property. The role includes rounds, preventive maintenance, cleaning, and general upkeep to ensure a safe, efficient environment.

Responsibilities cover HVAC, lighting, energy management, and basic repairs, with a focus on reliability and adherence to NFPA and local codes.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required; apprentice or trade school preferred.
5+ years of related experience operating MEP systems in commercial properties.
Appropriate trade license/permit may be required (e.g., electrician, refrigeration, etc.).
Valid driver's license and clean driving record where applicable.
Basic computing skills in Outlook, Excel and Word.

Responsibilities

Operate plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems across the property.
Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on boilers, chillers, pumps, and air distribution systems.
Inspect and repair doors, lighting, and life-safety equipment; monitor energy management.
Document activities and respond to emergencies per protocols.
Adhere to safety standards and required company training.
