Job summary

Cushman & Wakefield is seeking an Operating Engineer to maintain and operate MEP systems across assigned properties in New York. You will perform preventative and corrective maintenance, monitor energy systems, and support safe, efficient building operations.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in commercial property maintenance, appropriate trade licenses, and strong computer skills. The role may require on-call shifts and overtime based on priorities and emergencies.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED, apprentice/trade-school preferred.
5+ years of related work in operating mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems in a commercial property setting.
Appropriate licenses/permits (Journeyman/Master Electrician, Refrigeration Certificate etc.).
Universal Technician for CFCs may be required depending on licensure.
Valid driver’s license and good driving record.
Basic computing skills: Outlook, Excel & Word.
Experience operating HVAC, boilers, pumps, refrigerant systems, etc.
Knowledge of energy management systems and building operations.
May require shift work or on-call duties.

Responsibilities

Perform plumbing, electrical, and HVAC duties for the building(s).
Maintain heating equipment, chillers, DX units, pumps, cooling towers, VAV and air distribution systems.
Monitor and adjust mechanical/pneumatic equipment and control systems.
Inspect and repair field conditions, and report to supervisor.
Respond to emergencies and comply with safety regulations.
