Energy Solutions is seeking a Building Systems Engineer / Project Engineer in Mays Landing, NJ to support design-build delivery and coordination of mechanical systems, especially HVAC, for commercial and educational projects.

You will lead or support design of HVAC, hydronics, ventilation, and related systems, perform load calculations, equipment selection, and system integration while coordinating with MEP disciplines; design documents and startup support are part of the role.

Formación

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Building Systems Engineering, or a related field; PE license preferred or obtainable within a reasonable timeframe.
• 5–10 years of progressive experience in building systems engineering or project engineering roles.
• Proven experience with HVAC and mechanical systems for commercial, institutional, and/or industrial facilities, with strong technical foundation in HVAC, hydronics, and ventilation.

Our client, Energy Solutions is seeking a Building Systems Engineer / Project Engineer to join their team. As a Building Systems Engineer / Project Engineer, you will be part of the Engineering Team supporting design-build delivery and the coordination of building mechanical systems—especially HVAC—for commercial and educational projects. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical systems expertise, a collaborative mindset across disciplines, and the drive to deliver efficient, reliable building performance from concept through construction and startup.

Job Title: Building Systems Engineer / Project Engineer

Location: Mays Landing, New Jersey

Pay Range: $105000 - $150000

What's the Job?

• Lead or support the design and development of building mechanical systems, including HVAC, ventilation/indoor air quality, hydronics, and related mechanical coordination.
• Perform or oversee HVAC load calculations, equipment selection, ductwork/piping layout, energy modeling, and system integration using industry-standard tools such as Trace, HAP, Carrier, Revit, and AutoCAD.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary project efforts across mechanical, electrical, plumbing, controls, and structural disciplines to ensure cohesive building systems design and delivery.
• Prepare and review design documents, specifications, drawings, calculations, and project deliverables for HVAC, hydronic, ventilation, and related mechanical systems.
• Support design-build project execution from concept through construction administration, including schedule coordination, budget awareness, technical issue resolution, and commissioning support.

What's Needed?

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Building Systems Engineering, or a related field (PE license preferred or ability to obtain within a reasonable timeframe).
• 5–10 years of progressive experience in building systems engineering or project engineering roles.
• Proven experience with HVAC and mechanical systems for commercial, institutional, and/or industrial/energy generation facilities.
• Strong technical foundation in HVAC principles, hydronic systems, ventilation, energy recovery, and building systems integration.
• Proficiency with HVAC load calculation software, AutoCAD, and Revit (BIM experience preferred), plus excellent written and verbal communication skills.
