Job summary

Energy Solutions is seeking a Building Systems Engineer / Project Engineer to join the Engineering Team in Mays Landing, NJ, focusing on design-build delivery of building mechanical systems, especially HVAC. You will coordinate across disciplines to deliver efficient and reliable performance from concept through startup.

The role requires a mechanical engineering degree, 5–10 years of building systems experience, and proficiency with HVAC tools and BIM software.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Building Systems Engineering, or a related field; PE license preferred or obtainable within a reasonable timeframe.
• 5–10 years of progressive experience in building systems engineering or project engineering roles.
• Proven experience with HVAC and mechanical systems for commercial, institutional, and/or industrial facilities.
• Strong technical foundation in HVAC, hydronics, ventilation, energy recovery, and building systems integration.

Responsibilities

• Lead or support design and development of building mechanical systems including HVAC, ventilation, hydronics, and related coordination.
• Perform or oversee HVAC load calculations, equipment selection, ductwork/piping layout, energy modeling, and system integration using Trace, HAP, Carrier, Revit, and AutoCAD.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary project efforts across mechanical, electrical, plumbing, controls, and structural disciplines.
• Prepare and review design documents, specifications, drawings, calculations for HVAC, hydronic, ventilation, and related mechanical systems.
• Support design-build project execution from concept through construction administration, including schedule coordination and commissioning support.
