Job summary

CBRE Group, Inc. is seeking a Building Engineer in New York to monitor, maintain, and repair building systems including plumbing, electrical, heating, cooling, and life-safety components.

This role supports preventive maintenance and emergency repairs to meet client standards. You will work within the Engineering and Technical Services function, applying knowledge of standard practices and safety protocols while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED or trade school diploma; 4–5 years related experience preferred
• Ability to lift 50 lbs; capable of standing, walking, climbing stairs/ladders
• In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word/Excel/Outlook)
• Universal CFC certification preferred; other licenses as required by jurisdiction

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance and repairs to mechanical, plumbing, electrical, and building systems
• Ensure compliance with codes, regulations, and safety standards
• Maintain energy management programs to improve efficiency
• Support preventive maintenance and emergency repairs as needed
• Follow policies for safe storage and disposal of hazardous materials
• Review building systems to ensure operation within design specs and environmental conditions
