Job summary

CBRE Group, Inc. is seeking an Assistant Building Engineer in Kansas City to monitor, maintain, and repair building systems, including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and life-safety. You will support preventive maintenance, energy management, and safety programs while adhering to codes and company directives.

You will collaborate with a team to ensure facilities operate efficiently and safely, mentor peers, and contribute to CBRE’s values in daily work.

Qualifications

4–5 years of job-related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Meet physical requirements including lifting up to 50 lbs and climbing stairs/ladders.
Ability to exercise judgment from multiple sources of information.
Willingness to take a new perspective on existing solutions.
Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Strong organizational and analytical skills; basic math for calculations.

Responsibilities

Perform maintenance and repairs on mechanical, plumbing, electrical and life-safety systems.
Follow codes, regulations, and safety directives in operations.
Maintain an energy management program for efficient system operation.
Assist preventive maintenance and emergency repairs as needed.
Ensure safe storage and disposal of hazardous materials.
Review inspections of building systems to meet design specs.
Share knowledge and mentor others within the team.
Lead by example and promote CBRE values in daily work.
Impact a range of customer, operational, and service activities.
