Job summary

Olgoonik is seeking an experienced mechanical/electrical engineer to develop HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and low-voltage systems for commercial and institutional buildings in Bohemia and Oneida, NY. You will work from field visits through construction, coordinating with clients and project teams.

The role requires at least five years of design experience in a consulting environment and a bachelor’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering. A PE license is a plus.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of broad-based design experience as an engineer within a consulting environment.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
• Demonstrated ability as a problem solver.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the detailed design of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and/or low-voltage electrical systems in commercial and institutional buildings.
• Perform field inspections of existing buildings to obtain existing condition take-offs needed for design and detailing work.
• Work with clients and other project stakeholders to determine and coordinate overall system requirements.
• Construction administration services – submittal and shop drawing reviews, review and respond to RFI, schedule coordination, etc.
