Job summary

Lincoln Property Company is seeking a Building Engineer I to maintain and troubleshoot building systems including HVAC, plumbing, and electrical. This in-office role focuses on routine maintenance, tenant requests, and safety compliance under senior engineers.

You will perform inspections, respond to service requests, and replace components as needed, while maintaining records and supporting safety audits according to OSHA and NFPA standards.

Qualifications

• 2-3 years of related experience or commensurate certification/trade experience.
• Engineering and trade licenses required per local, state, or national requirements.
• CFC Certification preferred.
• Developing familiarity with HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems; gaining experience with BAS operation and troubleshooting.
• Basic skills with Microsoft Office Outlook and laptop/phone applications for work order systems, email, and training platforms.
• Ability to stand, walk, climb ladders, and lift up to 50 pounds; ability to perform physically demanding tasks.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled maintenance, repairs, and inspections of building systems.
• Address service requests, including hot/cold calls, plumbing issues, and lighting repairs.
• Troubleshoot minor equipment malfunctions and elevate issues as needed.
• Replace light fixtures, filters, and other components as required.
• Maintain accurate records of inspections and equipment performance.
• Conduct property inspections to identify deficiencies; complete preventive maintenance tasks and inspect contractors.
• Follow company safety protocols and use PPE for all tasks; ensure compliance with OSHA, NEC, NFC, and NFPA regulations; report hazards immediately and participate in safety audits.
• Participate in on-call rotations and respond to emergencies; handle urgent tenant service requests and support recovery efforts during severe weather and system outages.
• Interact with tenants, contractors, and property managers; work closely with senior engineers and technicians.
• Work closely with senior engineers to develop technical skills; participate in professional development programs.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
