Job summary

Boston Properties is seeking a skilled Building Operations Technician to maintain and repair building systems across multiple high-rise properties in New York. The role entails coordinating with the Fire Safety Director and Property Manager, inspecting life-safety systems, and ensuring safe, efficient operation of HVAC, electrical, and mechanical equipment.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with HVAC, electrical and mechanical equipment.
• Experience in high-rise building operations or related trades.
• Ability to read and understand schematic drawings.
• Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair building systems across assigned buildings.
• Inspect fire suppression and alarm systems; support Fire Safety Director and Property Manager.
• Plan and obtain tools, equipment, and materials to complete work.
• Document daily activities and maintain logs.
• Respond to tenant requests and after-hours emergencies.
• Assist in monitoring contractors and report deficiencies.
