Job summary

Boston Properties is seeking a Maintenance Technician/Building Engineer to maintain building systems, operate properties efficiently, and provide tenant services while upholding safety procedures.

The role requires 2–4 years of related experience, HVAC training, OSHA knowledge, and the ability to manage multiple tasks, schedules, and on-call responsibilities across different properties.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
• HVAC certification or training completed.
• OSHA, NFPA and Life Safety codes knowledge preferred.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience with web-based work order systems (Angus, Interwise, Energy Link) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, lighting).
• Oversee installation, repair, and commissioning of complex equipment.
• Plan work, gather tools, and document tasks and records.
• Monitor contractors and inspect work, generating deficiency lists.
• Maintain safety and cleanliness of work areas and equipment rooms.
• Respond to after-hours emergencies per on-call procedures.
