Job summary

CBRE is seeking a Building Engineer to monitor, maintain, and repair building systems including plumbing, electrical, heating, and cooling. The role covers preventive maintenance, safety compliance, and energy efficiency across facilities managed by CBRE.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or equivalent with several years of relevant experience, plus certifications such as CFC and strong skills in Microsoft Office and math.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED, or trade school diploma with 4-5 years of job-related experience.
• Meet the physical requirements of this role including stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs/ladders, and the ability to lift/carry heavy loads of 50 lbs. or more.
• In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Organizational skills with an analytical mindset.
• Sophisticated math skills for percentages, fractions, and financial calculations.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance and repairs to mechanical, plumbing, structural, and control systems.
• Comply with codes, regulations, and safety directives.
• Maintain an energy management program for efficient operation of systems.
• Assist with preventive maintenance and emergency repairs as needed.
• Follow policies for safe storage and disposal of hazardous materials.
• Review building system inspections (fire alarms, HVAC, plumbing) for design and environmental conditions.
• Apply standard procedures to complex assignments and provide solutions.
• Coach others and share knowledge within and across disciplines.
• Lead by example and help build consensus within CBRE and related teams.
• Impact a range of customer, operational, project, or service activities within own team.
