Job summary

CBRE is seeking a Building Engineer in Phoenix to monitor, maintain, and repair building systems including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and safety controls. The role focuses on preventive maintenance, system efficiency, and safe work practices.

The engineer will ensure regulatory compliance, oversee energy management, and support an on-site operations team with a strong emphasis on safety and reliability of facilities.

Qualifications

• Requires High School Diploma, GED, or trade school diploma with 4–5 years of related experience; Universal CFC certification preferred.
• Ability to lift/carry heavy loads of 50 lbs or more; physical requirements.
• Ability to exercise judgment based on multiple information sources.
• Experience with MS Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance and repairs to mechanical, plumbing, structural, furniture, fire, life safety, and control systems.
• Comply with applicable codes, regulations, and safety directives.
• Maintain an energy management program and ensure systems operate efficiently.
• Assist with preventive maintenance programs and perform emergency repairs as needed.
• Follow policies for safe storage, handling, and disposal of hazardous materials.
• Review inspections of building systems (fire alarms, HVAC, plumbing) for design and environmental compliance.
• Apply in-depth knowledge to accomplish complex assignments and provide innovative solutions.
• Coach others and share knowledge across related disciplines.
• Lead by example and promote CBRE RISE values to reach agreements.
• Impact a range of customer, operational, project or service activities within teams.
• Work within broad guidelines and policies; explain difficult information.
