Job summary

The Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis seeks a Building Systems Engineer to maintain and optimize critical building systems. You will oversee BAS, HVAC, life safety, and specialized equipment, ensuring reliability and compliance while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.

This on-site role requires hands-on maintenance, documentation in IWMS, and a commitment to safety, energy efficiency, and high service standards. A relevant trade or engineering background is preferred.

Qualifications

• 0-2 years maintenance engineering experience plus vocational or trade school experience or 4 years of engineering experience.
• Emphasis in HVAC, refrigeration, plumbing, mechanical or related field.
• Refrigeration license and experience on high-pressure steam and fittings preferred.
• Experience with an Automated Building Management System is desired.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and troubleshoot BAS to optimize building performance.
• Repair and maintain HVAC, refrigeration, plumbing, and related systems.
• Monitor Life Safety Systems and ensure operations comply with standards.
• Work with specialized equipment and material handling systems.
• Fine-tune building conditions for energy efficiency and occupant comfort.
• Document work in the IWMS and manage procurement of supplies.
• Maintain a valid driver's license.
