Job summary

Minnetonka Public Schools is looking for a part-time Community Education/Building Supervisor to assist in childcare and recreation programs at Minnetonka Elementary Schools. This role is vital for ensuring quality customer service, supervising activities, and maintaining safe environments for students and staff.

The position requires strong communication, interpersonal skills, and the ability to work independently in a team-oriented environment. Training in key areas such as Health & Safety and CPR is mandated.

Qualifications

• Must pass DHS background study and fingerprinting.
• Must complete required trainings in Health & Safety, CPR, Child Development, and Mandated Reporting.

Assignment

• School year childcare and recreation and enrichment programs are in afternoon session at all Minnetonka Elementary Schools from the end of the school day until 6:00 PM.
• Part-time assignment from August 24th, 2026 - June 8th, 2027
• One opening each at Groveland, Clear Springs, Scenic Heights, Deephaven, Excelsior, and Minnewashta
• Potential for Summer Explorers placement
• This position reports to the Explorers Program Manager.

Starting Pay Rate

• $20.28

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

• Meets, greets and provides information and directions to persons in buildings so that people arrive at the scheduled location.
• Ensures quality customer service for our user groups and proper use of space. Responds to any emergencies that may arise (weather incidents, fire, intruder, etc) and follow up with appropriate building leadership communication.
• Unlocks & locks rooms for Community Ed usage
• Assists with technology use if needed.
• Assists with class lists, handouts, and other necessary materials to instructors.
• Visually checks each area in use before and after activity to ensure its order for the next day.
• Assists in preparation and organization of field trip paperwork
• Maintains a positive rapport with students, staff, administration and the public
• All other duties as assigned including activity preparation
