Christel House Indianapolis is seeking a K-8 Building Substitute at Academy South to deliver engaging, standards-aligned lessons and manage classroom behavior.

Christel House Indianapolis is currently seeking a K-8 Building Substitute at Academy South.

Days of Service: 202 Days

Job Tasks:

• Plan, prepare and deliver engaging, standards-aligned lesson plans, instructional materials, and assessments that facilitate active learning.
• Manage student behavior in the classroom by establishing and enforcing rules and procedures.
• Encourage and monitor the progress of individual students and use the information to adjust teaching strategies.
• Encourage parent and community involvement, obtain information for parents when requested, schedule student-led conferences, and promptly return phone calls and answer emails.
• Participate in appropriate professional activities.
• Ability and willingness to work collaboratively, maintaining cooperative and effective working relationships.
• Other duties assigned.
